Grand Opening Jammy Jam
Are you hyped!? I’m hyped!
Before Saturday gets here, lemme address some FAQ’s I’ve been hit with in the past couple of days.
Ahem…
“Hey, is this event kid friendly!?”
Duh. That’s like the whole thing!
“But there’s gonna be beer tho, right!?”
Yep! My friends at Voodoo Ranger will be providing drinks all night. But kids don’t have to drink it. There’s gonna be water and funky juices for people too young to know that Will Smith was a fun rapper guy before he was out here slappin’ folks!
Did you accidentally use shoe cleaner to shave because it looked like the shaving cream can and you’re a dummy for keeping them both next to each other on the bathroom sink?
Maybe.
Who’s art can we expect to see on Saturday??
Mostly mine. I know, what a bummer. You’re all like “Greeeat, mOrE tEeTh aNd BuTts!” Not totally. It’ll be a lot of my new canvas paintings. Make no mistake tho - there will be teeth and butts. (*all sales will be going into keep these dang doors open past September)
As DO ART! grows, I’ll be able to fill the gallery with art created by the students and then I can start doing shows and exhibits for them!
There will also be a silent auction where you will be able to bid on art created by the founders.
“Who are the founders!?”
This fine group of fantastics. You’ll learn more about them on Saturday.
“I don’t think I can make it, but I want to support. How can I do that?”
Easily! The people at Designworx have given me the space to operate through the Summer. Which is dope, and I’m wildly grateful for - but it’s my goal to continue providing this service throughout the year, and make it accessible for any families that would like to participate. To do so, I’d have to assure the resources to make that happen. If you’d like to help, please feel free to donate by clicking the link ——-> Keep Doing Art!
“Where should I park?”
Anywhere EXCEPT the CarpetSmart parking lot! Unless you want your car eaten by the troll who guards the gates. Word on the streets is he fights rainbows and wipes his butt with kitten bones.
There’s plenty of street parking on 16th & Queen. You’ll also be able to use the lot at the Alcove!
Are there anymore questions? If so, you can always reach me by various socials and carrier pigeons.
If not…
Peace out, nerds!
